"You guys disgust me just thinking about something like that""
Page 78, Jumah
Significance: I think this quote is a good choice because its starting to show what these boys have had to stoop to. They are starving to point were they are trying to eat dogs and other animals that in there previous life they would have never even tried to hunt let alone eat. they have changed as people so much over the past couple months and I don't think that they will ever be able to make it back to being how they used to be. They have lost there innocence.
Personal connection: I think that if I saw someone die or experienced any of the other things that they have experienced I would not feel the same way ever again. I feel so bad for them because they have killed people and I don't think I could ever bring my self to do that.
How would you cope if you killed someone?
“We must kill them all. We must make sure they never walk this earth again”
Page 108, Rebels
Significance:I think that this is really scary because a human is saying this and it reminds me of the holocaust. I don't think that people should hate each other that much. Something went wrong with the rebels to instigate why they hate people so much. I'm hoping they will tell us why.
Character judgment: I think that all of the people that were going along with that chant. NO matter what. Are bad people. I would not know what to so though would you go along with it and suffer the bad conscious or would you fight back and suffer dying?
would you go along with it and suffer the bad conscious or would you fight back and suffer dying?

Ashlen,
Quote 1:
I agree that it shows the sheer desperation of the boys, so hopeless that they need to feed on animals that they would not normally eat. I cant say that in their situation I would have reacted any differently.
Quote 2:
I think that the speech was savage, but also justified. The army forces fight for what is right, but the rebels take joy in killing. Nobody who enjoys death deserves to live.
QUESTIONS??? where are they???
-Wade
Excuse me I did not see the questions......
My Answers:
Question 1: I dont think I would be able to kill someone. If I had to watch a person die, I think a part of me would die along with them.
Question 2: If I was facing an enemy like the rebels, who kill for joy, and find torture comedic, I would risk my life for others and try to stop their cruel ways. I would know I was fighting for the right cause, and help people avoid suffering.

Quote 1: I also think that the boys are desperate, because they have almost no food. I think that even though this may be animal cruelty, I would also probably hunt animals as well. If they ever reunite with their parents, I could only imagine how different it would be.
Question 1: If I had killed someone, I would probably go crazy. Killing someone is a terrible thing to do, and I don't think I would be ever be the same if I killed someone.
Quote 2: I also think that this speech was very evil-sounding, but there isn't really any alternative. I would agree with the army, because if a few lives were killed, many villages would be saved.
Question 2: I agree with Wade, I would also sacrifice my life to save others. Even if it means killing someone, it also means saving many.
Quote 1: I agree with all of you guys, they have changed so much that they are eating animal. They would had never done that before, but now they are doing anything they can to feed themselves. I don't that I would have eaten animals, I would just starve.
Quote 2: I agree with Wade and Ashlen, it was very scary when I read this quote. One person is doing what is right and the other takes advantage of the situation.
Question 1: If I killed someone, I don't think that i could live on with the guilt inside of me. Especially if it was someone close to me, if on accident or on purpose, I still couldn't live on.
Question 2: I think I would do what Wade said, I would risk my life to try to save someone so it doesn't happen to them. I would consider myself a hero.
