1. i think Mr. Naido helped her because they are the only 2 people who the girls are mean to in the class. They bath understand each other and are both the same in a way. Yoko when she first met Mr. Naido was really nice to him and she helped him bye making him not studder. So they became friends. And Mr. Naido helped her bye selling cans and bottles and giving her school supply's.
2. yoko thinks that Ko is a mean sister because she stays home after school on new years and so yoko is really mad and she goes to go sell some little doll things and sees ko shining shoes for money for a treat on new years. Yoko goes out and buys fish and miso soup she also buys a tea pot and green tea for Ko. When co comes home she gives yoko rice cakes and yoko gives her green tea after all Yoko knows that Ko is really a great sister.
3 How has yoko changed during the book?
well in the beginning she is a pampered girl who chooses what she wants to eat like in the first chapter she dosen't want to eat carrots and in the middle of the book shes starving and wishes she had the carrots she changes from a week pampered girl to a tough smart girl who knows how to take care of herself.

1. Yes, the thing they both have in common is rejection, and they helped each other. I agree with you completely.
2. I also think that Yoko realises that Ko is a good sister, and that they become a lot closer.
3. I posted the same question!!! =P
Well, anyways, I agree with you 100% that she has become tougher and smarter.
1.) I agree with you. They both get made fun of by the girls at the school and he is her only friend at school.
2.) I think Yoko changed her mind about Ko being a mean sister. I think they are a lot nicer tio eachother now.
3.) I think she complains a lot less and she is a lot smarter. I think she is more mature too.
1) The thing they do have in common is liking to help each other out, she provides him company and helps him with his stuttering and he in returns sells cans for her and gives her some school supliesl.
2) I think it was good that yoko saw ko shoe shining because she thought that ko was going to leave her alone on New years. But when she saw her she must of thought that she was the greatest sister ever so she spended her shoe money on a good meal.
3)Yes I think she has changed because she always usedd to whine about the little things but now she actually gives back instead of complaining.
1. I agree that they share rejection. And they help each other. Which is good.
2. I think that Yoko has a great sister to help her go through this durning this moment in time.
3. I think shes changed so much. Since the move. The train. The traveling on foot. The pain. The station. The death of her mother. I think that sometimes somthing bad needs to happen to learn something. And Yoko has gone through alot of bad things
1. Ya I agree with you because they both are being made fun of and they both like eachother as friends and help eachother so I thnk they have alot in common.
2. I think that yoko finnally see's that ko is a good sister because she goes out in the city to work and doesn't even get a thank you out of it and she is complaining about her even she is getting her food.
3. i AGREE WITH YOU SHE HAS BECOME FROM A SNOOTY PAMPERED GIRS TO A YOUNG BUT TOUGH AND STRONG GIRL i THINK THAT SHE HAS CHANGED VERY MUCH IN THE TIME WE HAVE READ THE BOOK.
